Soundcheck Privacy Policy

Last Updated 31 March 2018

About this Privacy Policy

This privacy policy sets out how Soundcheck uses and protects any information that you give Soundcheck when you use the Soundcheck app and website.

Soundcheck is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Any information requested from you and stored on Soundcheck will only be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy..

Soundcheck may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 31st March 2018.

What personal information does Soundcheck collect?

For a user without a Soundcheck account
While using Soundcheck without an account we will not collect any personal information from you. Your app installation will be recorded to our database, but this will only include a randomly assigned Installation ID and another randomly assigned Device ID which is not personally identifiable. These are stored so that if you were to make an account later on, your existing app download would be linked to that account.

For a user with a Soundcheck account
Soundcheck saves your Forename, Surname, Email and Facebook Login ID (where signed in using Facebook) to our database upon account creation. Prior to making a Soundcheck account, none of this information is recorded.

We save your name, email and Facebook Login ID in order to display your profile within the app. This profile appears both to yourself and other users who may wish to search for you. We also make store information about the date you were last active on Soundcheck and if you have uploaded a personal profile picture (rather than automatically using your Facebook picture) then that gets saved as well.

If you have enabled location details, we will also save a rough estimation of your location in order to better understand which regions our users are in and to be able to add more content to those regions.

If you wish to remove your location from our secure database you simply need to disable location access in your Settings app and then pick a new pre-defined location in Soundcheck. This will then remove your location data from Soundcheck.

What does Soundcheck do with this data?

Soundcheck requires this information to better understand your needs and to provide you with a better experience whilst using Soundcheck.

We do not sell your data to third parties.

Is my data saved securely?

Soundcheck saves all of your personal data in an encrypted database. We have taken precautions to ensure that your data is saved in a safe environment and there are multiple levels of security to ensure this remains the case.

Soundcheck has no access to your sensitive information such as passwords as these are all encrypted by the client app before they reach our database server.

Links to external websites

Soundcheck may contain links to other websites, such as to buy tickets or find out more information about a venue.

However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

Controlling your personal information

You have every right to have your personal information removed from Soundcheck by deleting your account. To do this, simply email jacob@soundcheckapp.co.uk and your account will be deleted (along with all of your data saved to Soundcheck)

Who is the data controller?

The data controller for Soundcheck is its creator, Jacob Woolcock. You can contact him with any queries by email at jacob@soundcheckapp.co.uk
